Yesterday I installed LibGDX and started a video tutorial series on making a simple game, but there's so much boilerplate code and SO MANY built-in classes that you use that I'm kind of overwhelmed by the number of things I'm supposed to use. I installed LWJGL a while ago but got stuck on the graphics part (never done OpenGL before), got discouraged, and went back to Processing. I'm trying to teach myself a better library than Processing that's more advanced, open to 3D, and runs faster. I want to get the speed of a game written in C++, but code in Java. I started to notice that everything I did in Processing felt a little clunkier than my games in C++ (simply due to the speed of the program). I've made games in C++ and more recently Java (with Processing).
